secret garden

Would it ever stop??? I've been working hard today but there's only so long you can sit at a computer so I had a quick dash round the garden, followed by a dig in the polytunnel and some planting of spinach and echinacea!
Off to book club tonight - we're discussing Full Tilt: Ireland to India with a Bicycle by Dervla Murphy. In the 1960s, aged 30 she brought a bike, packed a few things and cycled off. Incredible in its recklessness and sense of adventure and my jaw hit the ground several times. What a woman. She lived her life absolutely on her own terms and just set forth and  explored, the remoter the place the better and on the way she opened herself to every encounter and experience.  She died in 2022 aged 90, having been travelling until she was well into her 80s, the last place she went to were Israel and Palestine.
We finished Mary and George - a lot of gratuitous sex, much inappropriate swearing for the period, and some dodgy history - however, the costumes were magnificent as was the music. Take a listen here Pastyme with Good Company
