The Pensioner

A day with the minky. We’d missed her birthday as we were off sunning ourselves and she’s now a big four-year old. And a big birthday present was awaiting her indoors - an age-appropriate deck chair, so she can sit beside Grandad on the beach on all the balmy summer days we’ll be having.
And then we were off to Joy Tots to do Arty Crafty things. And all afternoon, she played away quite happily at pretend games which was just dandy as the weather outdoors had closed in.
And then the gown ups were away - we had tickets for BBC’s Debate Night, and here were the people at the centre of the current rumpus. Neil Gray, SNP vs Lorna Slater, Green vs Ash Regan, Alba. Oh and a Tory and a Labour person. And very entertaining it was too. Though I was conscious in such a small audience that we looked like a pair of sun tanned ex-pats. The final questioner asked about Parliament concentrating on the basics, so obviously I applauded wildly. And then he went off on all sorts of weird shit. I thought he meant potholes!
