We were today's invaders

With a promise of half decent weather we had set aside today for a hill walk and chose Mount Battock, the most easterly Corbett.
The weather didn't disappoint and, although it was quite breezy, we didn't need lots of clothes (and coming down had to remove some it got so warm).
The lower parts of these hills are pleasant with quite a few birds (skylark, curlew, lapwing, among others) and a pair of red squirrels, but higher up it is (too) heavily managed grouse moor and a bit of a desert. There have always been bulldozed tracks but there are more than last time we were up. though it did make for easy walking (except when I slid on a steep gravelly bit on the way down and landed on my behind!).
Despite the downsides it was great being up the hills in the sunshine and the views were extensive, if a bit misty. A few other people had had the same idea. There's an extra of the views back up taken from near where  the main pic was.
