New Welcome Center

When we offered to drive up to Wisconsin to help Laura move, we had said we wanted to be back to sing in choir on Sunday, since we had missed four weeks when we were in England and Madeira. So after returning the trailer, and saying goodbye to Laura and Liam, we were on our way. We stopped for a break at this new Welcome Center on the I-65 in Indiana. It was opened in October 2023. Inside, beside very nice spacious restrooms, are various exhibits featuring among other things, the nearby Meadow Lakes wind farm, nearby Kankakee Sands, where their is a herd of American bison, the northwest Indiana steel industry, and monarch butterflies. Outside, there is a children’s playground, dog park, paths to stretch your legs, and a pond. We had good weather for our drive, and stopped for dinner as we approached home.
