The nip

One of the pubs in Kirkby Lonsdale, the Royal Barn, has started a little running club, The Monumental Movers, that incentivises runners by offering them a free pint on completion of a 5k run. 

In an abrupt upgrade from 5k, they have now organised two runs on July 6th, one for 16k and one for 25k, in a event called 'Beyond The Lune'. 

As we - me, Hannah, Milly, and my brother, Wol - are all training up for the Kielder runs - marathon and half-marathon - in October, we decided it would be a good idea to enter. 

I have subsequently discovered that both routes go all the way up to the cairn at the top of Brownthwaite Brow.
