Decked

The sun was out in force on the decking this morning and I took full advantage of it with alfresco book and coffees for a couple of hours before starting work at ten.

Fortified with bacon rolls, me and my companion then decided to walk the couple of miles down the road to Mount Stuart to see all the bits we didn't see yesterday, before hopping the bus down to Kingarth for the walk to St.Blane's monastery ruins.

We always go to St.Blane's when we're here on Bute and it's a very lovely place indeed with pretty amazing views over to the jagged peaks of Arran. Plus, on this occasion at least, it was very warm and sunny which might well have made us linger just that little bit longer over our picnic lunch and cans of pop - no worries, we are on holiday after all.

A wee detour to Dunagoil Fort for some photos  (today's image is taken from the beach there) before heading back to Kingarth for a pub tea. Bus back up to Kerrycroy afterwards and then we walked the last couple of miles back to the cottage.

Bit less walking planned for tomorrow. I will sleep well tonight for sure.
