Dog rescue

An eventful voyage today, in the most pleasant company of Eptas.

The most dramatic moment was soon before I took this shot, when a black dog ran along the towpath and dived into the canal, almost managing then to become trapped between the hull of the boat and a bridge. It took two people to haul the dog out who then shook water over everyone and sped off.

We soon passed a canal side cottage and asked a chap sitting in the garden:

"Have you lost a black dog?"

He smiled and looked at his watch:

"Twenty to four."
