All The Small Things #6
Not such a small thing today .. this is an Emperor Dragonfly, the UK's largest dragonfly. It was also a bit of camera tart and kept landing in front of us.
I am quite proud of this one. There were a few more dragonflies around at Newport but not a lot to be honest. Butterfly numbers seem to be down as well, it's all very worrying.
I met up with Nigel and Welsh Si for the afternoon. It seemed the perfect way to celebrate the awesome Lions win in the morning. After a week of vitriol on Warren Gatland's selection he was utterly vindicated by the mauling the Lions dished out on the Wallabies. Going into half time the Lions were 19-3. In a few crazy minutes either side of the interval the Aussie clawed their way back into the game, and got within a score of getting back on level terms. The Lions were not to be denied, and stepped up a gear, and what had looked an impregnable defence was suddenly breeched time and time again. The final score 41-16, and a page in rugby history now guaranteed.
I've got an inordinate number of Little Grebe photos to wade through tomorrow. I just can't help myself when it comes to Little Grebes!
