First came the.....
Blossom and now come the apples ::))
So excited to see these little apples on my tiny little apple tree today. Like last year, I expect they'll be blipped lots :))
We've had a fab day today. Had a visit from friends Fiona and Janice today but it was extra special as they brought their two gorgeous girls, Georgie and Rachel with them. And THE most delicious lunch! Isn't it great when you invite folk for lunch and they say yes then insist on providing it! :))
Alan was very excited about their visit as he has history with Georgie and Rachel as they were in Pre-school together at The Craighalbert Centre. It's been a while since he saw them. He came and said hello and sat with us all in the kitchen for a little while but bailed out when it descended into girly chat!
What a lovely afternoon we had, eating our delicious lunch and catching up. Georgie is going to T in the Park on Saturday. Nothing out of the ordinary about that as lots of 17 year old girls will be be doing similar, but something else when you consider Georgie uses a power wheelchair and relies on a voice output machine (similar to the kind Steven Hawking uses but without the freaky American robot voice!) to communicate.
She's going with friends from school and isn't happy that her mum is insisting on taking her there and picking her up. She wants to get the bus! She wanted to camp to. A compromise has been reached that this year she will go on the Saturday, get the feel of the place then next year she can stay longer if she wants.
I take my hat off to Fiona. What a fantastic mum she is. It would have been so easy to wrap Georgie up in cotton wool and protect her. Instead she has encouraged her to be as independent as possible and to dream big, since she was tiny. As a result Georgie has developed into a bright, attractive, confident young woman more than ready to begin living her life.
