Surprisingly Tough.....

.....climbing conditions.

Up at 6.45am for the bus to Preikestolen aka Pulpit Rock. A low cooling mist hung over the valley which made for great walking conditions, but my fears that it wouldn't burn-off in time for us reaching the summit were realised. Whilst we had a superb climb with some genuinely sheer drops; sufficiently scary to get the vertigo sufferers going, we missed out on the views which make this Tripadvisor's Best View in the World in 2011. Shame, we'll just need to come back. The sun did burn off enough to give us some hints at great views, and made the walk down quite challenging in the afternoon heat.

Back at camp now and the Patrol Leaders are going out to the local theme park courtesy of the municipality. The rest of us are secretly pleased to be relaxing in the evening sun; a chance to rest tired feet. Not the stunning day we expected, but still an unforgettable climb and I'll be back one day.

Quote of the Day, "We have a cabbage with its own garden, you can come and live in it", said Alex from Denmark.
