Arizona Coues Deer

Arizona Coues ("cows") Deer are a sub-species of White Tailed Deer.  You can find them in the southeastern mountains of AZ. They are smaller than most other deer measuring only 30 inches tall at the shoulder when mature.

They very much resemble a mule deer but there are fine differences between the tails and gait. They are also found at higher elevations than mule deer.
