Plants In the Mountains
This morning I went up to Porters Pass to photograph the alpine plants that grow along the side of the road. The day was perfect for it, with no wind, and thin clouds that softened the light. There are a lot of different species of tiny plants, lichens and mosses. The colours are are stunning.
Extra Shot: sun halo on the mountain.
Also a collection of sub-alpine plants and lichens, beginning with Carmichaelia monroi, the dwarf broom.
I didn't feel up to going to Christchurch even though I'm running out of fresh food. A couple of hours in the mountains was marvellous and I hope it will kick start me to get back to normal.
