An Unexpected Journey
Rutledge Lane, Melbourne, Victoria
Noooooo... I just lost my write up and I'm too tired to write it all again. Ugh!
In summary:
- Finally succumbed to sleep at the start of the flight from Dubai and missed the meal.
- Lots of heavy turbulence for a good half hour.
- Medical emergency declared and the flight was diverted to Adelaide. Don't know what it was for, but it must have been serious enough. Hope the lady passenger is ok.
- Finally arrived in Melbourne 4 hours late bathed in gorgeous sunshine.
- Quick dash down to the hotel, grab a quick shower and a change of clothes.
Then it was back up into town to meet Mr Rosewarne. By the time we met up, the heavens had opened and Melbourne gave me a proper hometown welcome! ;-) A wee trip up to a local cd shop, Basement Discs, to watch an intimate lunchtime gig from an up and coming group before heading up to the Central Shopping centre to view the building inside a building that he shot a few days back, and for a spot of lunch. I was then given a guided tour of some of the sights, including the very colourful Hosier Lane that is covered in the most wonderful art. This guy was just adding the final touches to his latest work around the corner in Rutledge Lane. Ever get the feeling you're being watched?
Hopefully the weather will have started to behave itself a little by Sunday so I can keep the camera out longer than five minutes at a time. Tomorrow has been filled up already. More local knowledge put to use with a trip to a secret location for a morning shoot before heading back down the road to pick up the family to head over to the MCG to watch the Hawthorn vs Richmond games in the AFL. A win tomorrow guarantees the Hawks a place in the final eight and a big crowd is expected for this all Melbourne tie in the ground both teams call home. Go Hawks! :-)
Thanks for a great time today, J. Looking forward even more to tomorrow's day out! :-)
I seem to have hit a brick wall just now and the lack of sleep is finally catching up with me. Off for an early night so I can make the early start! The phone, clock and iPad will all be set to go off in the morning! Hopefully that will be enough! ;-)
