a little bit of rhubarb

Firstly, apologies I've been rubbish at replying to comments and in looking at journals. I am v conscious of my slackness in this regard.

Secondly, ignore the reflection of the windscreen in this blip. It was nabbed in a flash with the mini ipad. :-)

Today: drove along the west north coast from Thurso to Tongue, then on to Ullapool before eventually winding up in Inverness. The drive was all a bit impromptu, but awfully glad we did it -despite the lack of otter sightings- because the scenery was amazing. (Although the wind was a bit brisk at times, and we discovered entirely by accident what a local hiker was wearing under his kilt when a particularly feisty breeze whipped up his nether regions.)

Rather disappointed upon arriving at our lodgings in Inverness that the fabulously ugly blue tartan carpet so prominently pictured in the hotel website had been upgraded to a less cheesy and far more subdued colour scheme. Still, expecting full-on tackarama over the next day or so, with Loch Ness on the agenda....
