Rons-Points

The number of roundabouts in France increase each year we come here. In the past they were few and the French regarded them with some suspicion. In those days 'priorite da la droit' ruled so it was OK for cars just to pull out in front of you. Rather alarming at times.

However ronds-points have changed all that. They are everywhere and are often beautifully designed like gardens, woodlands and ancient monuments. They can also represent what is famous in the local area.

I wonder if there is a minister for ronds-points and a whole design department in each of the departments. Money seems to be no object and as far as I can tell few are sponsored.

This one is at the bottom of our village. It's quite modest having only an olive grove in it.
