Three months on.
Back to pillage the same tree as I harvested the elderflowers from exactly 3 months ago. This times to relieve the tree of elderberries to try to make elderberry jelly.
In the end I picked 4lbs of fruit once they had been separated from their stalks and added a couple of pounds of crab apples from our tree. Smelt very strong while cooking - high concentration of tannin. Left the brew to drain overnight. We'll see tomorrow what the boiling will bring.
Spent the morning hardly making a dent in the proliferation of apples that have fallen from the tree. Another 6 pints juiced making 24 pints in Doreen's freezer. Must get our own chest freezer for the garage. Did some more work on another website I'm creating for a campaign group in Shropshire fighting a proposal to build 360 houses on prime agricultural land on the edge of my home town. See shots from 22nd August and 24th August
