The lift bridge

There are a number of barges and boats that use the canal near our home. To allow passage, this heavily used bridge needs to be raised. It is really quite amazing as the bridge accommodates bikes, pedestrians, vehicles and trams. Just behind where I was standing, a small pleasure boat was waiting portside for the barge to pass. I was reminded of waiting for the lift bridge to be raised on our way to and from our slip in Burlington Bay. K misses the boat.
