Jack-O-Oranges

One of my friends found a regular-sized, orange, imported pumpkin in an international market recently. It was almost $50.

The dark green Thai/Japanese pumpkins we generally eat and cook with are flat and thick and would not make good jack-o-lanterns either. So, today we decorated small nectarines instead. It was actually a lot of fun.

We also made decorations for our Halloween/Fear Factor Party tomorrow. Cutting out paper pumpkins and bats made it almost feel like a real Halloween. Just instead of little kids knocking on the door for candy, it was people wanting to learn English. I pulled myself away from the craft table long enough to teach class, then convinced some of the students to hangout and make more decorations with me. So fun!
