Gathering acorns

Crete has a large number of historical sites. Today we had a wander through the Minoan graveyard. This area has been fenced from stock which is unusual on Crete. The advantage of this is that it had a lovely oak woodland on the site and it was very good to see some native flora and fauna.

Across the road this old Greek woman was gathering acorns. I don't know if these were for herself or to feed to her livestock. I tried to be very subtle getting a shot of her. I loved her very straight back when she was working and she hardly ever seemed to stand up
