Anna and the katchapuri

Anna is visiting this weekend from Georgia. I told her about the wonderful katchapuri I had there 10 years ago whilst travelling across the country in the January snows in an (unheated) Lada. It was handed to me hot from the oven on a snowy mountain pass, with cheese dribbling out of it and so delicious, the memory of that taste has stayed with me for all these years.

Tonight we tried making our own from an Ottelenghi recipe in his wonderful Jerusalem cookbook. They were completely different to the Georgian ones, and tasted good although we slightly overcooked them having got distracted by Blip. These ones are supposed to have an egg cracked into the 'boat' of dough just before they finish cooking, but we thought that would be too filling.
