Quod oculus meus videt

Early Light, Newlands Wood

Well it promised to be a great day and it was here in the West Midlands. I headed for a small Forestry Comission plantation just north of Cannock. The colours were great, but the depth of the wood prevented the low sun from pentrating too far. I walked eastwards to get closer to the edge of the wood and suddenly came across this scene. I used the trunk of the tree to reduce the strength of the sun's rays but actually preferred this shot when it had moved from behind the trunk.
