INDIGENOUS ART....

.... along with my "Back When" series, being a miserable dull wet day here, thought I would take a photo of this emu egg which we have from central Australia.

Remember Raestelle's blip the other day on their way to Adelaide, well from those emus comes this egg. They are quite large in size, check out the info in the good ole WIKI.

The Australian aboriginals for centuries have hand painted a lot of thinks like this, and now in most communities they have progressed their art to masterpieces and sought after art work. One such artist is renowned Stan Yarramunua.

This egg was given to us by my sister who has taught aboriginal children for over 30 years. The work done where she teaches is by a Cross Cultural Project between Fregon, Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands, Central Australia.

Enjoy, and check out the brush strokes!
