WTF - a poppy?

Usually, at this time of the year, the only poppies in Edinburgh are by the war memorials. Not this year though. Just along the street this one came out last night. The poor plant is very confused as there are another 7 buds. It's so mild, 14.5 degrees today, they may well come out too.

We are organising an orienteering event this evening, and have just returned from putting the reflective markers out. There were an amazing number of different sized moths attracted by our lights. Strange weather; only last week it was the aftermath of the storm and extremely frosty.
