Faded memories.
His hand, his eye and his hammer. A very complicated personality.
I have become quite emotional while doing this because it describes him so well.
He loved photography ( late 1950's, for only a very few years because he became ill) even if he only had an old Paxette camera, developed his own film in the upstairs loo and printed them using a enlarger made from a lens, some folded paper and some metal parts, which he made himself.
I used to spend hours with him, watching the magic unfold.
I watched him doing things all the time: making furniture, bread, sweets, wine, which he distilled inspite of it being illegal, fixing a car engine on the kitchen table, making things in the garden shed.
What fun he would have had if he'd been alive today. We would have blipped it all!
