BLACK BULLY
It’s a rare day when the black squirrel comes around. Running around the yard, he looks totally shiny black, so I’m surprised to see so much underlying brown tones in the photograph. His fluffy tail is like a down blanket, long enough to cover his head when he curls up at night.
In a bit of excitement today, a brown squirrel was resting at the very end of a limb when the black came right out on that same limb and scared the living daylights out of the brown. Quicker than you can imagine, the brown went over the end and scampered along the underside of the limb until he was well past the black before he came up to the top side to finish running away. How I would have loved a shot of that action, but it happened lightening quick and was over before I knew it. These black squirrels are such bullies.
