Waterworld no.3
Yesterday lunchtime this road was clear, then the water spilled over from the allotments beside the road (that I blipped yesterday and the day before - they are to the right of the bus stop) and the floods began. The main road shut at 7pm last night.
For some beautiful flooding pictures see local photographer Ross Mackenzie's blips and Flikr photos here.
I came home from work early, parking at the far side of the floodwaters and wading back home. With the road shut and the sun out it was all rather tranquil and beautiful.
However, neighbour Stephanie has lost her power which means it is dark and cold at her house so she'll be here with us for the evening. Local schools have shut and we are cut off in our own watery little enclave where kids rides bikes in the middle of the main road and swans gracefully sail through a garden….
