24 hours in...

Hannah and Elsie, tucked up in bed in the Marriott Hotel in Aberdeen.

We arrived, as predicted, at 15.00 in Aberdeen. The next crisis was the complete and utter unavailability of taxis in Aberdeen on a Friday afternoon. Half the companies didn't answer, and the others could promise nothing until after 7! I was at my wit's end, suggestions of taking the aforementioned luggage on the bus were not welcomed warmly. By pure chance, a sizeable minibus pulled up, dropping off a passenger. I fell on his neck, and begged him to be free, and he was. He managed the seemingly impossible task of fitting us all in - he got a very big tip.

The Marriot, Aberdeen, is lovely. I can thoroughly recommend it. We've stayed a few times, they do very good weekend rates, and some of the rooms open straight onto the swimming pool, a bit hit with the lasses. Having been uncomplainingly sick hourly for half the night and half the day, they were due a little pampering. Tomrrow our flight isn't until 17.00, and there is a courtesy bus, so no worries about time or transport there.
