Still Here!

Mural near my office

This building is next to my office in Sheffield. The 'drums' were originally the site of the National Centre for Popular Music which became a museum in Sheffield for contemporary music and culture, a £15 million project largely funded with contributions from the National Lottery, which opened on 1 March 1999, and closed in June 2000.

The museum did not attract visitors and in 2003 was bought by my university and now houses the Student's Union.

A few weeks ago some mural artists started to paint on what had simply been a plain wall. It had to fit around the grills, notices etc and this is the end product. Hard to photo as there is no clear site of the picture unencumbered by the roads and various detritus. Hope you can get a sense of it.
