White-lined Sphinx Moth

Wings folded in rest,
colours are hidden from view,
day and night flier.

This arrived unannounced under our awning this morning. It crowded into the corner and has hung there without moving all day. With a little research I found its name and some lovely photos of it in flight. Seehere to note its colours. Scroll down the page to see its tail colours as approaching a flower. Beautiful!

I've read that it is sometimes called the Hummingbird Moth because it will hover like a hummingbird.
