No further forward really ....

Anni aka BikerBear here reporting for Alma.

Went to see Mum today - she is feeling a little more comfortable after the horrors of yesterday but neither the consultant nor the registrar have been to speak with her.

She had been told she would be referred to the Pain Management Team but nothing seemed to have happened about that either - however I managed to get hold of the ever-helpful Sean (the OT) and he got her notes and went through them with us ..... in there it says that the pain management team have been to see her and adjusted her medication! Really???

In short, it would seem that the nurse/sister who came round with the drugs trolley changed Mum's medication to include up to 8 paracetamol a day (on demand), doses of cocodamol (which Mum cannot take as it makes her sick) and liquid morphine (on demand) - Mum was not asked or consulted about any of this.
We both expected that a Pain Management Team would consist of a person/persons who would sit with her and discuss the best way forward with medication.

The last thing written in her notes was "review by consultant" - so that would indicate that he hasn't even seen the results of the aspiration yet.

I came away growling ........................
