Decay
The Fulford Inn was a thriving business when we first moved to Salt Spring, a place where people who live in the south end of the island could go for a meal or a pint and take in some music. It's gone through several owners and now sits in disrepair. It would be difficult to restore it, from the looks of things, and I suspect it may be demolished. It's in such a great location, right at the end of the harbour, great views and on the road from the ferry to Ganges, our main village. Sad to see this deteriorate. I tried to find information on the history of the inn but haven't been successful. The closest pub is now about 16 km from here.
This will be my entry in the WBC challenge this week: Urban Decay.
If you have a few minutes, please watch this video.. One of my former students, Asia, is teaching on a reserve in northern Alberta, and the school has made a video in support of the Canadian Olympic Team in Sochi. Asia is the singer in the video. It just lifts my spirits to see our grads doing such cool things with kids. I love seeing those smiles and hearing those voices!
