Felt a bit like that today with the visa run I needed to do...down to the Hatta border. With the Dubai Cycling race in full swing and starting the third day through the mountains, it was a case of being up and on the move before the route was closed off to "ornery" folk like us!

Made it almost to Madam when the inevitable happened and they all came sailing through, looking magnificent, I might add!! We were on hold for about 40 mins...but then raced to the border arriving back in Hatta just as the road was closing for the lead riders to emerge from their longest stretch yet! 162kms of pedal pushing!

We made friends with the Swot Team policeman who had no objection to us standing with him on the little traffic island at the junction so had an incredible close up of the riders as they came down.
