Bobbles

The day started with a very beautiful sunshine and it was a calm morning. But since 11 am, it has been very stormy. The front door is rocking away as if somebody is knocking on the door!

I spotted these bobbles at work today.

Update: I am so glad that you liked the bobbles. I wrote to our Grounds Manager this morning to enquire about them: He advised the following in his email:

"The name of the plant is Hebe rakaiensis. After flowering during late summer we trim this shrub using hand shears to maintain its compact shape. Hebe rakaiensis doesn’t respond well to hard pruning and if a stem breaks off you are left with a permanent hole in the shrub which looks unsightly.

The shrub has received the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). To receive this award it has to pass a rigorous criteria."

So, these are award-winning Bobbles.
