My Pops

Yesterday I did a blip of my Mum and told her story from the last 10 months so today it's the turn of my wonderful Pops. I loved this picture - we have got in to the habit of going for a walk together along the canal when I come down and visit them and it's a great way to get some fresh air and to have a chance to chat about things. Somehow the difficult conversations we need to have are a lot easier when we are striding along the canal bank together - what ever the weather.

Today we came across this huge tree that had come down in the storms this week - it's blocking the Leeds Liverpool Canal and there is no way that any barges will be getting past here. Pops was pretending to hold it up - but he is so strong that I believe he is almost capable of that.

He has supported my Mum and the rest of the family over the last year and has just been her rock throughout. He cooks her lovely healthy, organic food and makes sure she eats every day even when her appetite is not good. It can't be easy for him to be watching her waste away but he is there by her side every day.
