Scourie Feis an Iar Thuath.. (part two)..
The Feis started on Friday. Around 40 children took part, with each signing up to learn three of four musical instruments. This is quite intensive, starting at 10, and finishing at 4.
Then it was time for the Tutors ceilidh on Friday evening, the bar closed around 11, and the hall was cleared for Saturdays session.
Again, 10 til 4, and then time for the closing concert for parents and others. We never miss this, the kids have had a great time, and the final half hour is a joy to watch.
Opening with Feis Bheag, the under 8's have been making hats, learning a Gaelic song about Noah and the floods, and acted this out with animals going into the ark 2 by 2. I had a nice shot of little H with his dog hat, but thought this shows the enthusiasm of the children and tutor L, who and features for the second day running!
I was meant to go to a Gaelic class, but didn't sleep well last night, and couldn't face the thought of being in a class for the day, so I've been in the greenhouse pricking out parsley seedlings. I put 6 pairs of seedlings around the edge of a 4 inch pot, and another pair in the centre. That's 14 seedlings per pot, and I did 22 pots of curly leaved and 24 of flat leaved. Then planted 116 lettuce seedlings in the poly-tunnel.
Then down for the show, and clear up afterwards, putting stuff back up on the stage for storage..
