School Kids on the March--Paris
This is the top of our street--Rue des Peupliers--taken leaning out of the window of our wonderful fourth floor apartment in Paris 13e. The street coming down from the upper left is the Rue Moulin des Prés (Street of the Mill in the Field--a recollection of a earlier Paris). The street to the right is the Rue Ernest et Henri Rousselle, named for a father and his son who served as important officials in Paris before and after 1900; the street sign is just to the left of the big arch.
We often hear school groups walking under our 4th floor window, and then look out to see them. This one was older than many and definitely bigger than most--I wasn't counting, but I think there must have been at least another three dozen students that had passed out of sight.
The stone building on the right with the red roof is the last of a series of three-story houses opposite us which extend the entire length of our street--here is a view looking down to the right, with more such buildings beyond.
