Moving Into The Unknown

The Orange Vendor

Occasionally I drive past this orange stand on my way to work and finally stopped to chat with the vendors today. Very hard working gents who were gracious with my desire to photograph them. It gave me a great opportunity to practice my Spanish and I think it gave them a funny diversion from bagging oranges. We talked about the beautiful weather (nearly 64 degrees!), I asked for a sonrisa (got none) and then I bought a bag of beautiful, bright oranges (for 5 dollars). We exchanged a few more laughs about my poor Spanish skills and their equally poor English skills and I jokingly promised to make them famous with my photo. In return, one of them said "if that's true, you owe me $100 for the oranges!"
