RIP
Yes I know, breaking the blip rules although I did copy the photo today. This one from my archives showing, or is that not showing, Tony Benn addressing the crowd in Trafalgar Square, Saturday, 31 March 1990. Those who remember the date will know that soon after this speech the West End of London was in flames although that had nothing to do with anything Mr Benn said.
I've met and photographed many politicians over the last 30 or so years and Tony Benn was perhaps the most friendly, candid, honest and honorable of them all. A true man of conviction who worked hard for his constituents and for working class people in general and not at all like the majority of self servers in parliament today.
