Star of Caledonia

The Star of Caledonia came to the Parliament this week and I didn't meet a member who saw it who wasn't excited and impressed.

I long to see it in reality, not just as a model, marking the entry to Scotland over the Solway and I am pleased to have been involved with the idea of such a project since I was a South of Scotland MSP working in and around Dumfries.

Jan Hogarth, who has done so much to make the South West of Scotland an international centre of excellence for environmental art, was on hand to explain the whole thing and it was great to see her again.
