Bumps in the Road

Snot monster

Although his nose was streaming, the wee man was in much better spirits today. Helped by a good night's sleep, his temper has returned to normal and we've almost got our happy, smiley son back again.

Because he was feeling so much better today, we decided to venture further afield and set off for Lemesos (about an 90 minutes drive). We drove through the back streets and along the promenade until we found a fantastic Syrian restaurant (recommended in Nikki's guide book). Today was our third day on the island of Cyprus but the first time we actually ate away from our villa.

After finishing up at the restaurant we headed off to the ancient ruins at Kourion, where we wandered through the remains of centuries of habitation. The wee man was rode in the backpack for the first time we've used it since our European trip, and he was delighted to be so high - although he did attempt to throw his hat away on numerous occasions.

We stopped off at Petra tou Romiou on the way back to our villa in Peyia. Also known as Aphrodite's Rock - the birthplace of Aphrodite. Unfortunately the wee man was starting to tire by this point, becoming increasingly more grumpy. Still, he didn't do too badly today, considering how he's been the last few days. With a good night's sleep tonight, hopefully he'll be back to his best tomorrow.
