Life Class

Today I sat as a model for an art group which Norma, a Friend from our Meeting, belongs to. She mentioned that they were looking for people who would be willing to sit for them and I thought it would be an interesting experience. So I spent a couple of hours, in half-hour sessions with short breaks in between, having my portrait captured by a group of ten artists.

It was a fascinating experience and the time passed very quickly; I wasn't at all aware of feeling uncomfortable or wanting to change my position. And the results were wonderfully varied and individual, each possesing its own artistic truth. I chose this as the one in which I most recognise what feels like the essence of me.
