Cuba, Day 1.

After a 5 hour delay in the Halifax airport, we arrived at the resort around 3 am. What an amazing feeling it was getting off the plane to a warm and star studded night!

The resort is about 11 years old and was hit quite badly by the hurricane Ike in 2008 but it was still beautifully maintained. The grounds are lush and colourful, with a great variety of palm trees. Bougainvillea exploding everywhere!

After a short sleep we headed into our first day of exploring. The beach isn't huge but long enough for a good walk, and there seems to be plenty of space under the cabanas when it is needed.

This will be my settling spot for the next 2 weeks!
