Some rather old fashioned writing instruments! Travelling (?) pen and inkwell and pencil in silver case. The latter dates from 1900 from the hall marks but there are none on the little pen/inkwell. The pen slides out to reveal the nib and make it a useable length but fits into the case so that the lid keeps it all safe. Beautiful! The pound coin is purely there to show their relative size. I think it is a shame that more of us do not use pen and ink anymore. Personally I always use a fountain pen for letters/signatures. It was given to me over 40 years ago and is still going strong - it took me through my professional exams and much more besides.
