To Launch ...........

or not to Launch, that is the question!! CCN and I went out Blip Hunting this afternoon and found ourselves out at Mount Blackheath on Shipley Plateau. This is one of the most popular "Hang Gliding" launch pads in the Blue Mountains.

It was interesting to come across a group of four hang gliders who were having a very earnest discussion as to whether they would launch their hang gliders or not. They had been up earlier but were now debating the changing wind conditions.

This is one of those really well kept secrets in the mountains, well it was before this Blip!! But truly, not a lot of people know about it and it is one of the most spectacular Lookouts in the mountains. At the moment the valley is just such a vivid green and one of the hang gliders that I had a chat to said it was absolutely magnificent up in the air today. The escarpment you can see in the background is just around the corner from Wombat Rock as "The Crow Flies.

The decision? They would give the game away today and try again on Saturday. I might just have to sneak out there and take a look. There's definitely a Blip in it if they're flying.
