The Ardennes

This was shot in the area of Han, in the Wallonian area of Belgium, specifically in the Ardennes (yup, of Battle of the Bulge fame). Hubby and I had sufficiently recovered from the most disastrous year of 2006, enough to go on a holiday together. I do not know what it is with castles, but for me they represent something eternal and yet fleeting, something which can be said to be applicable to so many other things. We visit them because they're imposing and grand and 'present', yet represent something bygone. But that is just my take on it.
