Woman and child
in the Yazd Bazaar.
After a few days rest in Tehran we took the train south to Yazd which lies in the centre of Iran and has the reputation of being the driest major city in Iran. So imagine my surprise when it rained on one of our days there - must have been the luck of the Irish ;-) However it was only a few limp drips.
Yazd has some amazing architecture, including the Badgirs or windcatchers - for ventilation in the hot arid desert environment. It is also the centre of Zoroastrian culture. As in Masouleh I took so many pictures and it was difficult to choose a blip. After my failure to get a decent image in the Tehran Bazaar I settled on this image of the woman in a chador and the child.
