Whinney-buzz
I was caught by some horse chestnut blossom sunlit at eye-level, and started to photograph it when this bee or hoverfly came and sat on it. How often does that happen? It's usually the other way round - the insect buzzes off just when I'm ready to take the blip!
Cath's talked about the Foraging Feast we went to in her journal. Learned a lot more about edible plants in the wild. What a wonderful time of year the Spring is, so much that is succulent and flavoursome on our doorsteps! Two things I must remember for the future are young green sweet cicely seeds - very sweet, very aniseed - and young green honesty seed cases - a fine mustard flavour. Also young navelwort (or pennywort) leaves, with a fine flavour of young peas.
