A red squirrel day
While we had breakfast Bruce was on R A B B I T and S Q U I R R EL duty ie he has his nose against the window watching for them. And he recognised the words, so we had to spell them. Every time he saw one, he would start barking. Thanks to Bruce we have seen a red squirrel. Thank you Bruce.
As The Wren has been to this area many more times than us, she has been our guide.
She took us on another lovely walk today up the Ryvoan pass to the Ryvoan Bothy, an old stone cottage providing an open shelter to walkers.
On the way we passed the Lochan Uaine. The water has a greenish tint.
The viewing platform over the lochan had a very natural looking fence. You can just see it at the bottom of the image. And there was a lovely seat dedicated to Jim Gillies, 'A good man who loved the forest'. A lovely place to be remembered.
On the way down there were walkers outside the Bothy who were planning to stay the night. Hopefully they are snug in there.
The Wren, Bruce and Cara have arrived home safely. And our lodge is very quiet without them.
