Blue-headed Vireo on its Nest

A couple of different areas today: This treasure was on Mount Holyoke; Marylee saw the parents changing places on the nest, but I was not close at that point. The blue-headed vireo (Vireo solitarius) was split several years ago from two other vireos: the three (all very similar) were called solitary vireo (if you find that confusing, it is--though they have somewhat different geographical ranges). The cerulean warbler was also around--it also nests on the mountain.

Earlier we were at Bri Mar Stable in Hadley--a newly developed area, to which we will return.

Very distressing news from Gillipaw in Glasgow--a serious fire at the College of Art, perhaps Rennie Mackintosh's most important creation, which we visited with her last summer.
