Himalayan mayapple - podophyllum hexandrum
This plant followed me home from a 'plant swop' at the local village hall a couple of years ago. To begin with I didn't have a clue what it was - only that it didn't like to dry out and prefers shade.
When it finally got around to flowering and produced a very nice red-orange fruit I was able to identify it. Apparently it's poisonous but has medicinal properties and is used in Ayurvedic medicine.
I think it looks rather like small pixies with white caps and green capes - as in Elsa Beskow's books!
